What a HWID ban is
HWID stands for hardware ID: the fingerprint an anticheat builds from your components to identify your physical machine. A HWID ban blocks that fingerprint, so making a new account does nothing, the game recognises the same hardware and blocks you again.
It is rarely one single value. Anticheats collect several identifiers and combine them, which is why a partial spoof often fails: change three of five values and the remaining two still point at you. Modern systems also mix in softer signals like your account email, payment method and IP, none of which a hardware spoofer touches.
- Disk and volume serial numbers, usually the most heavily weighted values.
- Motherboard, BIOS and SMBIOS identifiers baked in at manufacture.
- MAC addresses on your network adapters.
- CPU and GPU identifiers, plus Windows installation and machine GUIDs.
- Soft signals such as IP address, email, payment method and Discord account, which spoofing does not affect at all.
What a spoofer actually does
A spoofer runs before the game launches and presents different hardware identifiers, so the anticheat reads a machine it has not banned. That lets a previously banned computer connect again. Products like RedEngine Spoofer for FiveM and Scientist Spoofer for Fortnite do exactly this.
Most modern spoofers work at driver level, intercepting the calls an anticheat makes to read those identifiers and returning different values. That has two consequences worth understanding before you buy. First, the spoof is usually per session: reboot and you normally re-run it. Second, driver-level software is exactly what anticheats hunt hardest, so a spoofer that has not been updated recently is a liability rather than a fix.
A good spoofer also cleans traces the ban left on disk: game folders, caches, registry keys and config directories that identify the banned install. Hardware is only half the trail.
What a spoofer does NOT do
This is the part people get wrong: a spoofer does not unban your account. It clears the hardware ban so your machine works again, but your banned account stays banned. You use a fresh account alongside the spoofer. Think of it as unbanning the computer, not the account.
It also does not hide cheating. A spoofer resets identity after the fact; it does nothing about the detection that got you banned in the first place. Run the same detected software again and you get banned again, on the new fingerprint, usually faster. Nothing in this category is undetectable, and any seller using that word is lying to you.
Finally, it does not cover the soft signals. Same email, same payment method, same IP and the same Discord on the fresh account gives a server admin or anticheat plenty to link you with, no hardware required.

Spoofers are priced like the cheats they pair with: short keys for people who just need back in once, longer keys for regulars. Two notes on lifetime pricing. A lifetime spoofer is only worth anything if the developer keeps updating it, because anticheats change their fingerprinting several times a year and a stale spoofer is worse than none. And lifetime means the product's lifetime, not yours: these projects die. How do you use a HWID spoofer safely?
Order matters more than anything else here. Most people who spoof and get blocked again did the right steps in the wrong sequence.
- 1Buy from a compared seller, never a cold DM. The same rules as how to buy without getting scammed apply, and spoofer downloads are a favourite malware vector, as covered in are Roblox executors viruses.

- 3Fully close the game, its launcher and any background anticheat processes. A spoof applied while the anticheat is already loaded achieves nothing.
- 4Run the spoofer as administrator, let it finish, and reboot if it asks. Driver-level spoofs usually need the restart to take effect.
- 5Delete the leftovers the spoofer names: game folders, caches and config directories. A spoofed machine still holding the banned install's files still points at you.
- 6Log in with a fresh account, never the banned one, and use a different email where you can.
- 7Re-run the spoofer after every reboot unless the product explicitly says its spoof persists. Most are per session by design.
Telling a hardware ban from an account ban
Worth five minutes before you spend anything, because roughly half the people who buy a spoofer did not need one.
- 1Try the banned account on a different machine. If it is still blocked there, the ban is on the account.
- 2Try a brand new account on your own machine. If that new account is blocked at launch or on first connect, the ban is on your hardware.
- 3Read the error text carefully. Hardware bans usually produce a launch-time or connect-time block, not a login rejection.
- 4Note whether the block is instant or delayed. An instant kick on connect points at hardware or IP, while a kick after several minutes points at live detection instead.
- 5If a fresh account works normally on your machine, you are not HWID banned and a spoofer will not help you.
Common mistakes that get you re-banned
- Logging the banned account back in after spoofing, which re-links the old ban to your new fingerprint instantly.
- Reusing the same email, payment method, IP or Discord on the fresh account, all of which are tracked independently of hardware.
- Leaving the old game folder, cache and configs in place. Spoofing hardware does not clean files.
- Running the spoofer while the game or launcher is still open, so the anticheat already holds your real values.
- Buying a lifetime key on a spoofer with no recent update history. Stale spoofers fail loudly and quickly.
- Treating a spoofer as protection. It is recovery, not cover, and it makes nothing you run afterwards undetectable.
Who actually needs a spoofer
- You have a HWID ban in FiveM, Fortnite or Call of Duty: yes, a spoofer is the only way back onto that machine.
- You have an account ban only: a fresh account is usually enough on its own, so save the money.
- You are cheating and want to protect your main machine: many players spoof pre-emptively, though it adds cost and one more thing that can fail.
